60’s feminism + contemporary androgyny is served.
This past year, boiling up to summer, a hot wave of feminism has been brewing. And as any social or political movement emerges, the fashion of it is what fascinates us the most.
After all, the clothes of the people are the tell tale signs of…. everything.
Whereas 60’s feminism reclaimed female sexuality and the freedom to break through traditional female roles, today’s feminism declares the abolishment of said roles altogether.
Why are sex and gender roles even necessary? Every human contains “male” and “female” traits within their brains.
Back to the fashion…. 60’s fashion contains hyper feminine silhouettes accentuating the female body (mini skirt) while today’s fashion contains every type of silhouette imaginable- loose, boxey, tight and romantic.
There are overlaps between the two- monochrome, minimalism, maximalism, embellishments, bright colors, slip dresses, lace up, crop tops, booty shorts….
Below view our take on the combination of 60’s and contemporary dress. From mood and inspiration down to shoppable pieces.
Brigitte Bardot, Francoise Hardy, Jane Birkin, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Twiggy all in one mood board. Yes.
New favorite colors- yellow, pink, green and anything see- through.
Take us to the South of France… summer isn’t over yet! PS- we have a thing for motorcycles as you can see… a symbol of liberation?
